Volunteer project Creative Canvas Uganda
The artist Carson Buka started this project that focuses on the development of children in January 2016. He believes that expressing yourself in an artistic environment promotes the development of children. At the moment every weekend (and during the holidays) more than 50 children are welcomed who can enjoy themselves in various ways. They receive lessons in the field of art (such as painting and sculpting), movement, agriculture, drama, sex education and computer knowledge.
How can you help?
In this project they are looking for volunteers who want play and work with the children on the fields of sports, art or education. So are you a drama teacher? Sports teacher? Cook? Or are you a painter and you want to teach the children something about painting? Come and spread your knowledge!
If you are already involved in another project, you can support this project during weekends or holidays. It is also possible to work part-time at this project and part-time at another.
If you want to come and help full-time at this project (not only in the weekend) then you have make sure you come in the right months. The holidays are in early May (three weeks), late August (four weeks) and early December (two months!). The start and end dates of the holidays shift a little each year so make sure to discuss with us before booking your ticket!
At Creative Canvas Uganda we welcome all volunteers who want to teach the children something in the weekends and / or holidays. Contact us to discuss how you can help out at this project.

Conduct of good behaviour
To be able to help with this project, you need a conduct of good behaviour from your (local) government or Interpol.
The projects we work with receive an expense allowance that leaves no room for self-enrichment. We work this way because we prefer to see the projects being helped through improvements to the project instead of financial donations. Unfortunately we know too many projects where the donated money has disappeared into the pocket of a worker.
On this page on our Joeboentoe website you will find how you can best help the project. If you raise funds, Joeboentoe will take care of a responsible spending of the money.
